2026 convention logo

CAMS had a strong contingent at the 2026 IPMS/USA National Convention, providing many of the key leadership positions and and seeing several members place within their categories.

We were among 11 clubs that shared responsibility for running a convention that has garnered near universal kudos from those attending and had near record attendance and models on display. There were more CAMS members than at prior conventions and they had more models on display, both in the contest and in the display-only Tiger Meet. That also meant members getting their first awards at a national contest.

Norm Witte placed first in Other Miscellaneous for his RF-84-FThunderflash cockpit.

Jason McEntire was second in 1/60 scale Gunpla with an RH 35E Draken E.

Chris “Fishstick” Long was second in 1/144 scale unpainted Gunpla with his RX 78-2 and in 1/100 scale unpainted Gunpla with his RX 78-2 Mobile Suit V. 1.5.

John Watkins took third place in 1/48 scale and larger German dioramas with his A Great Place to Break Down.

We also want to give a shout out to the Mid-Michigan Model Makers, a fellow Region 4 club, for earning Chapter of the Year.
