I found these two little D&D figures in a box in a desk drawer. I have no idea when I acquired them other than decades ago. Anyway, I decided to paint them and get them a little base for display.
The first figure I decided to make more colorful. He gives off a sort of evil vibe, but black-on-black-with-black-highlights has been a bit overdone. To brighten him up, I used a mix of acrylic paints: Testors Rad Red and Gloss Green, Wine craft paint, Vallejo Gloss Black and Warpaints Weapon Bronze.

He came out pretty colorful, if not flamboyant (perhaps fab-u-lous!).
The other figure, while having some color, is a little more restrained with Testors Flat Steel and Gloss Dark Blue, Tamiya Flat Earth and Flat Flesh, Copper craft paint and Vallejo Gloss Black. Pretty standard fighter/knight look!

The grey resin base I picked up at AFK Games looks like the ruins of a formerly impressive structure, the sort of place to find the adherents of the evil cult and have an adventure whomping on them and taking all the loot. I painted it with the Flat Earth and Dark Gray as well as Testors IJN Gray.

Kind of fun, and good practice for doing really small detailed work.
