Tony reminded everyone of the opportunity for the “Silent Auction”. Tony won an M113 with a bid of $10 to be paid to the Treasurer at the July meeting. He reviewed upcoming events in June: Tim Ridout Challenge, June 14 at the Grand Rapids Airport. Kits for the June 14 event were collected and given to Chris K for transport to the event.
The membership in attendance voted on and agreed to reimburse Chris K $35 dollars for the costs associated with cleaning the club’s table banner. The club Treasurer is authorized to make out a check to Chris K for $35.
There was a brief update of events last month. Chris K and Brian D briefed the club on what they saw at the 419 Model Con show. It was their opinion that it was the best local show they had been to. The quality of the models presented was impressive and it is anticipated that the show will only grow in size.
The group had a discussion on the club’s schedule for the next couple of months. The members agreed upon the following schedule:
July Club Meeting – July 3
Build Night at Tanuki’s – July 17
August Club Meeting – Aug 14
Build Night Lansing Makers – Aug 27
Chris K briefed the club on the idea of having the figure painters group come in to help us hold an all-hands figure painting practical application event during our September 2025 club meeting. Coordination and planning need to be conducted in order to make this happen.
During the July club meeting, the club needs to nail down the staffing for the CAMS table that will be at the Capital City Comic Con, July 11-13. At this point only, Jason M is signed up to man the table so additional volunteers are needed to man the table.
Tony briefed the club on the special theme awards that were being proposed for the 2026 national convention.
