President Dick Davenport Takes a Break from Aircraft
Dick Davenport's Gundam

Sometimes I need to take a break from building aircraft.  Either the detail work is tiring or I’m waiting for paint to dry.  When that’s the case, I sometimes turn to building a Gundam.  This is the third one I’ve actually spent time to do a do a good job.  I tried something new this time; I removed all the parts from their trees, cleaned up all the cuts and placed each piece in a separate drawer for each tree (pic 1).  Then I painted each piece, including areas that would have had stickers (pic 2).  I highlighted all the panel lines using an India ink pen with a 0.005mm point.  The finished project isn’t perfect, but it’s an advance over earlier attempts and I learned some things while relaxing at the same time.
